Paul has worked at Weldlag for 31 years, born and raised in Preston just a few miles from the company offices, attending English Martyr’s primary and then Thomas Moore High School.
Starting his career at Weldlag as an apprentice insulation engineer whilst studying for his City & Guilds qualification in Thermal Insulation and Sheet Metal at North Cheshire College.
Passionate and hardworking from the very beginning, Paul was presented with the accolade of Apprentice of the Year for two consecutive years in 1990 and 1991.
Now a Contracts Manager Paul has developed his expertise, throughout his years working at Weldlag. Day to day, his role is busy and diverse, from managing his team of staff to carrying out an asbestos survey on site Paul manages each project from start to finish.
Paul says his favourite part about his job is the people he works with.
Weldlag’s team is made up of a group of long-standing employee’s who operate as one, a sort of family who enjoys spending time together both in and out of work.
In addition to his passion for his, work Paul enjoys good cuisine, watching boxing in particular Irish lightweight champion Katie Taylor, and has a very keen interest in Motor Sport.
Paul recently attended the Moto GP at Silverstone and had the great pleasure of meeting Marc Marquez, Franco Morbidelli and Joan Mir from the Marc VDS team.
Paul had a fantastic day spending time with the team despite the weather stopping much of the racing.
Despite his interest in boxing and racing his one true love is his 3-year-old daughter Freya.
With just one smile, not many of his friends could imagine how easily persuaded he is to part with his hard earned cash for some sparkly shoes!
